The Silmarillion embedded in the RinG of Power
Of last, the 3 Silmarillos, prserving the light, fire and glory get scattered in the air, the earth and the seas. Fashioned by Feanor, lost through guile and hatred, retrieved by oath and might, the jewels finally went beyond the possession of any living being.
Created as a flowing thought of music, JRRs epic consisting of The Silmarillion, The Hobbits, the Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and the Return of the King shall remain unequalled in the choice of names, characters and dynasties, surpassing even the Mahabharata. Ideas conceived and intermingled with fairy tales and history to give England an Epic that they can call its very own. The creator Illuvatar, the 7 Ainur, the immortal Elves, the mortal Men, the Dwarves and the Hobbits make this a fantastical reading, that takes one beyond imaginations, and posthomously honours the creative-genius called Tolkein.
Unlike the other epics of yore, none of the characters save Morgoth live till the end. While infighting, treachery, deviousness among the Elves and Men pervades, Morgoth remains the Hero. Of all the wars that were fought, the fifth and final, though crucial was given less space wherein Morgoth yielded the Silmarillos. Of anti-climax was the part that the originator and his sons never get to enjoy the powers of this gem, much like the way it happened after the battle of Kurukshetra. But it is always the greediness and jealousy against the possessor that is the cause of strive in all the epics, the only difference being it was the women Draupadi and Helen in other epics wherein here its the exquisite jewel.
Arose the next Dark Lord, Sauron after the fall of Morgoth and he willed to rule the Earth. So he created the Rings of Power, that could ward off decays and postpone weariness. So, he created 3 Elven rings (of air, fire and water), 7 Dwarf ring and 9 Men rings. And he created One Ring by which he could govern the thoughts of the possessor of the other rings. Knowing that the Elves hid the rings, but he continued governing men and dwarf. The accursed ring brought great glory and wealth but they finally led to their own betrayal and undoing. When the One was lost and later found by Hobbit Bilbo baggins and then passed on to Frodo, who became the Lord of the Ring. Then the journey to destroy the Ring by throwing it into the Fire from which it was made was what created history to cinematic movie-goers and rediscovery of JRR, 50 years after this book was published.
As a child and teenager I was enamoured by the sweet tales of Enid Blyton, of the magical creatures called Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Witches she mentions in many of her books. Yet, when I read these stories and Harry Potter, I wonder how much more people might have liked Enid had they read all her Fantasy stories. Of difference being that these Fantasies were written for adult but that for childern. Going by the popularity of these novels, I guess we safely say that men craves to be like a child, the time when he could take his mind to the fantasy world, the word of imaginations and curiosity !
Half a year, I possessed these books which my friend Comet had so lovingly entrusted upon me. It is but at his farewell that I return the Silmarillion embedded in the RinG of Power.

Keep dreaming dude. The Silmarillion is my favorite book. But the intense philosophical truths conveyed in the Mahabharata remain unmatched. No story writer can match a Rishi's intuition.
Sheesh.
